    Job Title: Chemist Operator LeadJob Description

     

    The Chemist Operator Lead will be responsible for producing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) using chemical reactors. This role involves following specific batch records to ensure consistent product quality.

    Responsibilities

    + Handle various unit operations, including reactions, filtration, distillation, drying, and milling, on raw materials and during various stages of chemical processing according to written manufacturing procedures and SOPs.

    + Follow and document per batch sheet instructions to produce products in compliance with all cGMP guidelines.

    + Set up equipment such as vessels, tanks, centrifuges, and dryers for proper processing.

    + Clean and verify equipment and vessels to maintain operational integrity.

    + Record observations of operating conditions to ensure optimal performance.

    + Drive and operate a forklift truck safely and efficiently.

    + Make work prioritization or timing decisions with supervisory oversight.

    + Adjust utilities to maintain reaction parameters.

    + Maintain process flow through the plant while adhering to all safety, GMP, and environmental regulations and standards.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in operating chemical reactors and handling various unit operations.

    + Strong understanding of cGMP guidelines and ability to follow batch records.

    + Experience in setting up and cleaning chemical processing equipment.

    + Ability to record and analyze operating conditions effectively.

    + Forklift operation skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + AS Degree in Sciences, with a preference for Chemical Technology or Chemistry.

    + 5-7 years of experience in pharmaceutical chemical operating.

    + Knowledge of analytical chemistry and experience with GC (Gas Chromatography).

    Work Environment

    The role is based in a clean laboratory and production environment. The work schedule follows a 2-2-3 shift pattern from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., including work on alternate weekends. The position offers opportunities for growth into leadership roles as the innovation hub expands.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grafton, WI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $37.00/hr.
