Headquartered in South Bend, Indiana, this company designs and builds advanced welding machines and provides contract manufacturing services for industries such as aerospace and automotive. We are looking for an aspiring controls expert who is a focused, detail-oriented team member with high standards, a solid work ethic, and a strong desire to advance their technical knowledge.

    Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with Applications Engineers, Fluid Systems Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers to provide a variety of machine control system solutions for the effective operation of friction welding machines.

    + Create electrical schematics using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and ePLAN, and produce Bills of Material documentation.

    + Conduct machine commissioning to ensure systems are operational.

    + Interpret controls systems requirements from various project scope documents.

    + Implement ANSI and ISO machine design and safety standards.

    + Develop machine sequence and control flow charts.

    + Develop Human Machine Interface programs for machine controls using Siemens and related products.

    + Expand understanding and experience of machinery, machine controls, programmable logic controllers, human machine interface, and their control software.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum 2 years of controls engineering experience.

    + Experience with Siemens PLCs and a willingness to learn more.

    + Mechanical inclination.

    + Customer-facing experience.

    + Design experience with AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD, and ePLAN.

    + Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.

    + Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or ePLAN.

    Work Environment

    The position is based onsite at the headquarters in South Bend, IN, operating on a first shift from 8 AM to 5 PM, five days a week. The role requires minimal overtime and involves domestic and international travel approximately two times per year.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bend, IN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $48.08/hr.
