Job Title: Medical Director / Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
Job Description
The Medical Director/Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist will oversee clinical care at the Center for Healthy Families, ensuring the highest standards of psychiatric and behavioral health services for children, youth, and families. This part-time role combines direct patient care, clinical supervision, and program oversight.
Responsibilities
+ Provide direct psychiatric care and evaluation for children, youth, and families in an outpatient setting.
+ Supervise and support clinical team members in assessment and treatment planning.
+ Review and sign off on treatment plans, intakes, and clinical documentation.
+ Lead and participate in monthly staff meetings, serving as Medical Director for regulatory and accreditation purposes.
+ Collaborate with medical and clinical staff to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
+ Guide and mentor clinical staff in best practices for psychiatric care.
+ Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and peer review activities.
+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trends in child and adolescent psychiatry.
+ Other duties as assigned to support program quality and patient care.
Essential Skills
+ Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
+ Completion of an approved residency in psychiatry.
+ Board certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
+ Active and unrestricted Connecticut medical license.
+ Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in clinical settings.
+ Ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate with diverse populations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
+ Commitment to compassionate, high-quality care and continuous improvement.
+ Flexible schedule with potential for growth in hours and responsibilities.
+ Clinical supervision and teaching experience.
+ Familiarity with outpatient behavioral health settings.
+ Ability to sign off on treatment plans and intakes.
+ Strong collaboration and communication skills.
+ Experience in trauma-informed care or family systems preferred.
+ Comfort with virtual platforms and remote collaboration.
+ Double board certification (Child & Adult Psychiatry) is a plus.
+ Experience with virtual care delivery is advantageous.
+ Familiarity with Joint Commission standards.
+ Prior leadership or director-level experience in behavioral health.
Work Environment
Most work can be done virtually, except for direct patient care. The clinic operates from 8 AM to 8 PM, and a monthly in-person staff meeting is required. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $104000.00 - $208000.00/yr.
