Job Title: Specimen Processing SpecialistJob Description
The Specimen Processing Specialist will be responsible for three primary components: receiving shipments of specimens, accurate data entry, and pre-analytical preparation of specimens.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
+ Monitor and maintain consumable inventory.
+ Adhere to quality control guidelines to ensure the integrity of laboratory specimens and accurate data entry.
+ Accurately identify and label specimens.
+ Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
+ Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
+ Process all necessary paperwork to process and submit specimens.
+ Perform audits to resolve any outstanding issues.
+ Cross-train to perform other job functions as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in specimen processing and specimen collection.
+ Strong data entry skills.
+ Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and Outlook.
+ High level of attention to detail.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ 1 year of medical/clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
+ Experience working in a team environment.
+ Strong organizational skills.
Work Environment
The work schedule offers two shifts: the first shift from Tuesday to Saturday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM, and the second shift from Tuesday to Saturday, 2 PM to 10:30 PM. The position is based in San Diego.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
