Job Title: Automation Controls Engineer
Job Description
Lead the design and development of control systems for custom automated assembly and test equipment. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions that prioritize long-term system reliability. Engage in PLC programming, HMI development, robotics integration, and machine vision systems to create cutting-edge automation technology.
Responsibilities
+ Design and develop software for automated assembly and test equipment from concept through customer acceptance.
+ Collaborate with engineering teams and a high-tech customer base to deliver innovative solutions.
+ Architect, write, simulate, and debug ladder logic for Allen-Bradley PLCs.
+ Create operator interfaces using Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk and Inductive Automation’s Ignition platforms.
+ Program, simulate, and deploy Fanuc robots to perform complex automation tasks.
+ Develop and integrate machine vision solutions using Keyence, Cognex In-Sight, and Cognex VisionPro technologies.
+ Lead the commissioning and debugging of prototype systems with diverse automation technologies.
+ Support validation, final acceptance, and global deployment of automation systems.
+ Provide remote and onsite support to ensure successful integration and operation at customer facilities.
Essential Skills
+ 3-10 years of experience as a Controls or Robotics Engineer in industrial environments.
+ Expertise in programming industrial control systems with Allen-Bradley.
+ Strong experience in multi-station PLC programming and system integration.
+ Broad exposure to factory automation and production systems (Fanuc, Denso, ABB).
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automation/Robotics, or Systems Engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Proficiency with machine vision technologies including Cognex, Keyence, and Fanuc.
+ Strong understanding of electromechanical and mechatronic systems.
+ Familiarity with electrical codes and industrial safety standards.
Work Environment
This is an on-site, in-person role requiring collaboration with engineering and production teams. All design, CNC, and manufacturing tasks are performed in-house. The dress code is casual, with occasional client-facing responsibilities. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexible hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
