Job Title: Controls Engineering Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated Controls Engineering Technician to join our Production Engineering Battery Department. The primary responsibility of this role is to execute machine setup as North American personnel, enhance operational availability through continuous improvement, and problem-solve technical issues. Additionally, you will support the Battery department's objectives by executing capital projects from planning through the start of production.
Responsibilities
+ Test and repair electrical equipment or systems, including circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, and servo drives.
+ Write, program, troubleshoot, modify, and repair programmable logic controllers, robotics, cameras, and other electronic equipment.
+ Troubleshoot and repair safety systems, machine components, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
+ Plan and execute machine integration into mass production, including leveling, adjustment, and quality conformation.
+ Perform administrative tasks such as documenting work performed via written or electronic methods.
+ Problem-solve and continuously improve safety, quality, and detailed scheduling for assigned work areas or projects.
+ Participate in project planning with the Engineering team.
+ Support machine production trials at vendors and internally.
+ Certify the safety of equipment per MMR/MMS and NFPA79 standards via 'Safety Integrity Check'.
Essential Skills
+ Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or equipment installation and debugging experience.
+ Experience with electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
+ Technical experience with PLCs in programming, including reading, writing, and modifying logic.
+ Technical experience with servo motion controllers.
+ Technical experience with relay logic, including wiring and troubleshooting.
+ Technical experience with robotics, including programming and troubleshooting.
+ Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic troubleshooting and schematic reading.
+ Availability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and during shutdowns.
+ Ability to travel for business, both domestically and internationally, up to 30%.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Technical associate degree or higher, or equivalent experience.
+ Experience in pre-production setup.
+ Experience with production processes.
Work Environment
This position is with the PE Battery Team, supporting the Production Engineering Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering Battery Pack Assembly group's equipment. The role requires 100% on-site presence at the client site, Georgetown, KY. Working hours are either 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM local time. Candidates should be local and available to travel domestically in the US, to Canada, Mexico, and possibly Japan. Travel may be required up to 50% during peak times. Overtime is approximately 25%, and candidates should be prepared to work extra hours during weekdays and weekends as per project needs. Personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes and safety glasses are required; the rest will be provided.

This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $65.00/hr.
