Project Engineer
Compensation: $50HR+
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead and execute major capital projects at one of our largest global facilities. This role offers the opportunity to manage high-impact initiatives, from design and installation to commissioning, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget, driving innovation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead the execution of capital projects, including design, installation, and refurbishment of equipment and utilities.
+ Manage project timelines, budgets, and design modifications while maintaining strong contractor relationships.
+ Collaborate with design teams on layout and conceptual planning.
+ Oversee installation of piping and electrical systems supporting primary product lines.
+ Ensure compliance with permits, environmental, health, safety, and quality policies.
+ Provide engineering support for analysis, design, procurement, modification, installation, and start-up of production and facility equipment.
Essential Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
+ 3–10 years of experience in high-speed packaging equipment or chemical batch processing operations within consumer products.
+ Proven ability to manage projects with budgets ranging from $2–$5M.
+ Strong communication and negotiation skills for internal and external stakeholders.
+ Experience with commissioning and qualification processes (IQ, OQ, PQ).
Preferred Skills
+ Proficiency in CAD, Microsoft Office, and project management software.
+ Excellent organizational and follow-up skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
+ Strong project management expertise in planning, scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, design/layout, and contractor supervision.
+ Effective communication and presentation skills; ability to work in a team environment and embrace continuous learning.
Work Environment
Join a dynamic team at a newly renovated facility producing leading consumer products such as Lysol, Finish Tabs, Woolite, and more. This hands-on role involves working closely with contractors and engineers on the floor, ensuring projects meet stringent quality and safety standards. This is a Contract position based out of SAINT PETERS, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
