Job Title: Survey Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Survey Technician to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership presence in the technical space and possess 3-3+ years of surveying experience with a civil firm. This role primarily involves office work, supporting the field team's daily schedules, and occasionally working in the field. The Survey Technician will utilize data collected from the field to create cutsheets and layout plans for engineers.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare cutsheets, wallchecks, finals, asbuilts, boundaries, topos, and field stakeouts, primarily for new construction on large parcels of land.

+ Assist the field coordinator in preparing work for crews.

+ Assist in scheduling field crews as workload dictates and perform field survey duties as needed.

+ Participate in at least one continuing education class as per the employee handbook.

Essential Skills

+ 3-6+ years of experience as a Survey Technician in a CAD-based office role.

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software (experience with Carlson is a plus).

+ Experience in both surveying (field) and engineering (design) is beneficial.

+ Proficient in land surveying, data maps, layouts, ALTA, topographic surveys, and boundary survey software.

+ Ability to read blueprints and contract documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with cutsheets, topographic surveys, and field stakeouts.

+ The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The work environment focuses on residential communities and commercial projects in all phases. The team consists of 36 members across four teams, supporting various project types. The office environment is flexible with hybrid work options available after 90 days. Employees enjoy a fast-paced atmosphere with a strong emphasis on continuous learning and adaptability. This is a Permanent position based out of WOODBRIDGE, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
