Job Title: Lab TechnologistJob Description

Provide technical leadership and serve as the technical resource for all hematology laboratory technologists and technicians regarding the performance and interpretation of new and ongoing assays. The role involves reviewing clinical protocols, leading the development of lab protocols for studies, and providing technical guidance to the Project Management group and sponsors as needed. Collaborate with IT and Data Management in priming hematology studies and work with Management to develop SOPs, method validations, workflow processes, data review, reporting templates, and QC processes. Additionally, train hematology lab staff on various equipment and manual processes, including proper QC/PT.

Responsibilities

+ Provide technical leadership in hematology laboratory assays.

+ Review clinical protocols and lead lab protocol development for studies.

+ Provide technical guidance to Project Management and sponsors.

+ Collaborate with IT and Data Management on hematology studies.

+ Develop SOPs, method validations, workflow processes, data review, reporting templates, and QC processes.

+ Train lab staff on equipment and manual processes.

Essential Skills

+ ASCP certification (generalist ONLY)

+ Bachelor's degree in Sciences

+ Proficient usage of a commercial grade or customized clinical LIMS

+ Minimum 1 year of experience in a diagnostic, clinical laboratory with modern automation

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate of Applied Science acceptable, Bachelor of Applied Science in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Medical Technology preferred.

+ If no Medical Technology degree from an accredited institution, transcripts are required.

+ Proficient in good laboratory techniques

+ Ability to multi-task with instrumentation

+ Competency with computer-based technology

Work Environment

This position offers two openings, one on the 1st shift and another on the 2nd shift. The first shift position is from 10 AM to 6:30 PM with alternating Saturdays. The second shift provides more flexibility, likely from 1 PM to 9:30 PM, also with alternating Saturdays. The laboratory environment involves working on samples for clinical trials without the need to work major holidays or interact with patients.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $72800.00/yr.
