Job Title: Assembler and Packer** **Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Assembler and Packer to join our team in the production of automatic doors. The role involves performing assembly and packaging tasks following job specifications and under the guidance of the department Group Leader or Supervisor. You will execute scheduled activities, meet daily production requirements, and uphold quality standards.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
+ Assemble sub-assemblies and components to ensure correct fit, including headers, transoms, and door panels.
+ Package products according to established standards, maintaining operational equipment by following preventive maintenance requirements.
+ Use hand tools to assemble and measure parts, reviewing parts, sub-assemblies, and final products.
+ Verify specifications by measuring completed components and reject if quality standards are not met.
+ Communicate with internal engineering and customer support to address customer complaints and concerns.
+ Resolve assembly problems by adjusting dimensions to meet specifications, notifying supervisors for additional resources if needed.
+ Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
+ Manage supplies inventory by checking stock levels, placing orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
+ Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to achieve job results.
+ Document actions by completing production and quality forms, contributing to team efforts.
+ Operate saws, lathes, and drill presses to fabricate and assemble shaft components.
+ Use various types of powered industrial trucks, manual pallet jacks, and gantry hoists to move materials.
+ Prepare parts for painting by cleaning and hanging them in the paint booth, performing light painting using aerosol spray cans.
+ Inspect unassembled materials to ensure proper quantity, quality, finish, shape, and components as per customer requests.
+ Retrieve and package parts using appropriate materials like bubble wrap, paper, and wooden crates.
+ Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor.
+ Operate various production equipment, including weigh scales, staple guns, bagging machines, and thermo printers.
+ Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, following prescribed safety regulations.
Essential Skills
+ Assembly and packaging experience.
+ Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, and screwdrivers.
+ Ability to operate saws, lathes, and drill presses.
+ Experience with powered industrial trucks and material handling equipment.
+ Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
+ Proficient in using a PC for assembly-related tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Prior shipping and assembly experience.
+ Candidate must be dependable and mechanically inclined.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reamstown, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
