Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving and auditing incoming materials, conducting daily cycle counts of inventory, and processing jobs via computer systems. You will also handle the processing of materials to return to the warehouse or suppliers, package materials for shipping, expedite and communicate line down parts to the appropriate work centers, and file documentation in accordance with department procedures.

Responsibilities

+ Receive and audit incoming materials.

+ Conduct daily cycle counts of inventory.

+ Process jobs via computer systems.

+ Handle materials to return to warehouse or suppliers/vendors.

+ Package, wrap, and crate materials approved for shipping.

+ Expedite and communicate line down parts to the appropriate work centers.

+ File documentation as per department procedures.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ Material Handling experience (2+ years preferred)

+ Forklift Certification (preferred)

+ Shipping experience (preferred)

+ Ability to lift 35+ pounds

+ Computer skills

+ ERP system knowledge

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Oracle experience is a plus

+ High School Diploma

+ Ability to pass a drug test and BG check

+ Must wear steel toe boots on the first day

Work Environment

The position operates on a Monday to Friday shift and may last 12-18 months with the potential to convert based on performance and business needs. The work environment is moderate in temperature and noise level. The role requires physical activities such as sitting, walking, using hands for various tasks, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. You will work under deadlines and may need to work overtime occasionally. Strong vision abilities and the capability to read and interpret data are required. Expect a mix of computer terminal work, meetings, phone calls, and other communication activities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.
