    Job Title: Lathe Machinist** **Job Description

     

    We are seeking both 1st and 2nd Shift Lathe Machinists to machine details from plate or flat stock according to blueprints, ensuring exact dimensions for various shapes and materials. The role involves producing components for the plastic injection industry, working with materials such as steel, copper, and nickel.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate Haas 3 axis Lathe, including setup and tool changes.

    + Edit G&M codes for feeds and speeds.

    + Perform quality inspection of each part using micrometers and calipers.

    + Program on the CNC from a print using templates, macros, and parametric.

    + Perform routine machine maintenance and replace tool inserts when required.

    + Measure parts to maintain conformance.

    + Read and interpret blueprints.

    Essential Skills

    + 3 years of experience in CNC Lathe setup and operation.

    + Strong understanding of G & M codes.

    + Ability to read measuring tools, blueprints, and interpret prints.

    + Experience with Haas or Fanuc controls.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Programming experience is a plus.

    + Ability to work independently and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

    Work Environment

    Work in a climate-controlled, state-of-the-art facility with a clean shop environment. The facility offers multiple cafes and a workout room for employees. The 1st shift operates from 7am to 3:30pm (or 5:30pm when busy) with Saturday hours from 7am to 1pm. The 2nd shift runs from 7pm to 3:30am (or 5:30am when busy), currently 48 hours a week with a 10% shift premium. Additional 6-hour shifts on Saturdays from 2pm to 8pm may be required.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
