Shop Mechanic

Job Description

As a Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for disassembling, cleaning, repairing, and reassembling electric motors, water and sewer pumps. Your role will involve some grinding and requires a strong mechanical background with preferred electrical knowledge. You will test electro-mechanical rotating equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods, including AC/DC. You will also replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electrical parts and assemblies.

Responsibilities

+ Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble electric motors and pumps.

+ Troubleshoot and test electro-mechanical rotating equipment using AC/DC methods.

+ Replace or repair worn or defective parts and assemblies such as brushes, bearings, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, brakes, clutches, tachometers, and fans.

+ Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including test panels, surge testers, core loss testers, burnout ovens, cut off saws, grinders, drills, cranes, forklift trucks, torches, dip tank, and VPI systems.

Essential Skills

+ Strong mechanical background with some electrical knowledge.

+ Experience with AC/DC motor troubleshooting.

+ Proficiency in operating specialized repair and testing equipment.

This is a direct placement/permanent opportunity. You will interview with the Shop Manager and then fill out their paperwork to be their employee on Day 1. This allows access to all of their insurance, benefits, and PTO right away.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $61000.00/yr.
