    Job Description

    The VI Mitigation System Installation Technician installs, modifies, and maintains vapor intrusion mitigation systems, including SSD, SMD, crawlspace, and building pressurization systems. This role spans residential, commercial, and industrial sites and requires hands-on construction skills, environmental remediation knowledge, and strict adherence to regulatory standards and health/safety procedures.

    Responsibilities

    + Install, modify, and maintain vapor intrusion mitigation systems.

    + Assemble PVC piping ranging from 3" to 6", perform solvent welding, and install supports.

    + Conduct core drilling, trenching, saw cutting, and light excavation.

    + Install vapor barriers, membranes, seals, boots, cracks, control joints, and penetrations.

    + Assist with basic electrical wiring for mitigation fans.

    + Follow construction drawings and system layouts accurately.

    + Collaborate effectively with consultants, site supervisors, and tradespeople.

    + Ensure documentation accuracy, including logs, photos, and checklists.

    Essential Skills

    + Hands-on construction and troubleshooting skills.

    + Knowledge of environmental remediation and compliance.

    + Familiarity with VI concepts and EPA/state guidance.

    + Understanding of RAWPs, HASPs, and OSHA standards.

    + Awareness of confined space, silica, and respirator requirements.

    + Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate computers.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 1-3+ years of experience in environmental remediation, construction, mechanical trades, or radon mitigation.

    + Ability to work in tight or difficult spaces, such as crawlspaces, basements, and trenches.

    + Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on rooftops.

    + Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Brunswick, NJ.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
