Job Title: Material Handler Forklift

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Material Handler Forklift Operator to join our team. This role involves operating a sit-down forklift, utilizing an RF scan gun, and loading and unloading products from trailers in the warehouse. The position also includes assisting operators with materials, using an internal shipping system as needed, inspecting inbound and outbound products, and acting as a team lead within the warehouse, overseeing a team of employees.

Responsibilities

+ Operate sit-down forklift efficiently and safely.

+ Utilize RF scan gun for product management.

+ Load and unload products from trailers in the warehouse.

+ Assist operators with materials when needed.

+ Use internal shipping system as required.

+ Inspect inbound and outbound products for quality and accuracy.

+ Act as a team lead within the warehouse, overseeing a team of employees.

Essential Skills

+ High school diploma or GED required.

+ Minimum of 6 months manufacturing/production experience.

+ At least 1 year of forklift experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in assembly, production, warehouse, shipping & receiving, and material handling.

+ Proficient with RF scan and general labor tasks.

Work Environment

The company manufactures bottles and caps for products like shampoo and mouth wash in a very clean and temperature-controlled environment. Employees must adhere to GMP guidelines and wear steel-toed boots, long pants, jeans or khakis, and a t-shirt. Ear plugs, hair nets, and other safety equipment will be provided. Work shifts are from 6am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm, with initial training on the first shift for one week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Iowa City, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.50/hr.
