Job Title: Welder

Job Description

The role requires reading and interpreting blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements. You will be responsible for connecting cables from the welding unit to obtain the specified amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse as per work instructions. You will manually guide the electrode or gun along the weld line, maintaining the length of arc and speed of movement to form the specified depth of fusion and bead, judged from the color of the metal, sound of the weld, and size of the molten puddle.

Responsibilities

+ Read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings to determine welding requirements.

+ Connect cables from the welding unit to obtain specified amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse.

+ Manually guide the electrode or gun along the weld line.

+ Maintain the length of arc and speed of movement to ensure proper depth of fusion and bead.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in MIG welding and TIG welding.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings.

+ Experience in welding and fabrication.

+ At least 2 years of welding experience.

Work Environment

The position operates on a second shift from 3:30 pm to 2 am, Monday through Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Watertown, SD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
