Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift** **Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift to ensure the efficient operation of our food manufacturing machinery. You will work from 2pm to 10:30pm, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various equipment.

Responsibilities

+ Perform preventative maintenance on food machinery including conveyors, ovens, heaters, chillers, baggers, fillers, coolers, and packaging equipment.

+ Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues, dedicating 80% of your time to mechanical work and 20% to electrical work.

+ Troubleshoot and work with PLCs.

+ Set up and modify machinery as needed to improve efficiency.

+ Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.

+ Strong mechanical skills with a solid understanding of electrical systems.

+ Experience working on conveyors, packaging machinery, heaters, ovens, baggers, and fillers.

+ Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in the food industry is strongly preferred.

+ Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.

+ Experience in industrial, medical, or pharmaceutical industries is beneficial.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, dry food manufacturing and packaging facility specializing in popcorn production. Be prepared to wear hair nets and smocks at all times to maintain hygiene standards. Expect an average of 5-10 hours of overtime during the week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukegan, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00/hr.
