Job Title: Machine Saw Operator** **Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Saw Operator to apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to work order specifications. The role requires maintaining processing equipment in a safe and clean condition and ensuring the processing area is kept orderly. Accurate information entry and completing any other assigned tasks are essential responsibilities.

Responsibilities

+ Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.

+ Pull, inspect, and verify product before processing.

+ Properly and safely set up equipment to run material to set up note specifications.

+ Process set up notes according to work order specifications.

+ Verify that product meets set up note specifications per written work instructions and record measurements.

+ Communicate with appropriate sales representatives regarding changes or clarifications to orders.

+ Perform equipment preventive maintenance.

+ Properly enter or delete material identification tags per written instructions.

+ Assist in the packaging of material per written work instructions and work order.

+ Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition.

+ Properly operate weighing scales and record inspection measurements.

+ Identify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming material.

+ Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.

+ Complete job responsibilities safely, avoiding unsafe situations for oneself or others.

+ Train others when required.

+ Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of saw operation experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

+ Inventory control utilizing mathematical skills.

+ Ability to read rulers and interpret blueprints.

+ Experience with saws such as waterjet, bandsaw, drill press, or CNC.

+ Ability to read and write.

+ Basic math skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

+ Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry.

+ Previous forklift experience.

+ Computer literacy.

+ Use of handheld measuring tools.

Work Environment

This position is set in a warehouse and production environment. The role involves working with various technologies and equipment, including cranes, forklifts, and saws. The setting requires adherence to safety standards and maintaining a clean and orderly space.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.20 - $22.20/hr.
