Aerospace and defense company in Lancaster, PA is looking for a skilled TIG welder on 2nd shift. Work in a clean, climate controlled shop building cutting edge cooling technology!

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder who is interested in high-level, quality welding. You will work the afternoon shift from 3 PM to 11 PM, focusing on producing aerospace quality welds. The role requires experience in welding various materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, copper nickel, and more. You will also engage in tasks like soldering, brazing, machining, grinding, and testing. Documentation is crucial, so you must be comfortable with tracking and documenting all steps and setups. The company specializes in unique cooling devices for defense and government work, demanding a high level of multitasking and performance.

Responsibilities

+ Operate Manual Welder to TIG weld components safely according to specifications.

+ Follow weld instructions and complete projects based on blueprints.

+ Understand and execute verbal instructions from manufacturing leadership regarding job orders.

+ Perform tack-weld functions to join metal workpieces at specified distances.

+ Inspect and record quality requirements of finished workpieces.

+ Ensure safe operation of welding processes using all safety devices and tools.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.

+ Participate in cross-training throughout the manufacturing facility.

Essential Skills

+ High school diploma, GED, or technical school diploma preferred.

+ 5+ years of related experience and/or training preferred.

+ Welding certificate preferred.

+ Proficient in the use of micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.

+ Ability to read and work to set tolerances and work from blueprints.

+ Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail.

+ Basic mathematical skills are required to set-up and operate the welding process.

+ Ability to work in a team-fostered environment and to work overtime and weekends when needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr.
