    Job Title: Entry Level Machine Operator

    Job Description

    The Operator is responsible for operating machinery and equipment to produce pultruded products according to specifications. This role involves setting up machines, monitoring the production process, and performing quality checks to ensure products meet standards. Additional duties include troubleshooting production issues and performing routine maintenance on equipment, ensuring glass racks are full, and conducting basic machine operations. The operator will inspect finished products and set up saws to cut them to desired sizes.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate machinery and equipment to produce pultruded products according to specifications.

    + Set up machines and monitor the production process.

    + Perform quality checks to ensure products meet standards.

    + Troubleshoot issues that arise during production.

    + Perform routine maintenance on equipment.

    + Keep glass racks full and perform basic pultrusion machine operations.

    + Inspect finished products and set up saws to cut them to desired sizes.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in machine operation and general labor.

    + Ability to lift 50 pounds multiple times during a shift.

    + Proficiency in reading a tape measure down to a 1/16 inch.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 6 months of work history at the same job verified through references.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment requires constant standing, moderate to heavy lifting, and bending. Exposure to noise, dust, fiberglass, and resin chemicals is typical due to the manufacturing process, though direct handling is not required. The team consists of 5 people per cell, with larger groups on each shift. Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection are mandatory, and jeans and long sleeve shirts are recommended due to fiberglass exposure. Shifts are structured as follows: 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, and 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Overtime is available and occasionally mandatory, subject to supervisor approval.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CHATFIELD, MN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
