Job Title: Industrial Painter

Job Description

We are seeking 1 Painter. The role involves painting and redecorating walls, woodwork, and fixtures, including desks, tables, cabinets, machinery, and curbs.

Responsibilities

+ Paint and redecorate walls, woodwork, fixtures, machinery, and curbs using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.

+ Understand surface peculiarities and determine the appropriate type of paint required for different applications.

+ Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old finishes, smoothing surfaces, and filling nail holes, cracks, and joints.

+ Mix colors, oils, white lead, and other paint ingredients to achieve proper color or consistency.

+ Move or cover furniture and fixtures, tape areas, and lay down drop cloths to prepare areas for painting.

+ Complete work orders for interior and exterior painting projects.

+ Maintain an inventory of paint equipment and supplies.

+ Store paint and related chemicals in accordance with company safety policies.

+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Essential Skills

+ Strong mechanical aptitude, math, and measuring skills.

+ Ability to read a ruler to 1/16 of an inch.

+ Understanding of hand/power tools and diagrams.

+ Capability of lifting 50+ lbs repeatedly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ownership of basic hand tools and knowledge of their proper use.

+ Preferably able to read blueprints, wire diagrams, and written instructions.

Work Environment

Work in a fast-paced, repetitive, and construction-related pre-fabrication shop. Mandatory safety gear includes steel toe boots and safety glasses. The dress code requires long pants and a t-shirt. Work hours are 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with the possibility of working until 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with some weekends as needed. Enjoy a 30-minute lunch break.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ruther Glen, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
