Job Description
As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for moving and loading or unloading parts and materials from containers or trucks using powered industrial equipment such as sit-down forklifts. You will also process and fill orders, pick parts, materials, equipment, and supplies, and ensure the accuracy of orders
against shipment documentation. Additionally, you will utilize a computer system to document the movement of materials and perform housekeeping functions as required.
Responsibilities
+ Move parts or materials and load/unload from containers or trucks using powered industrial equipment.
+ Utilize sit-down forklift experience.
+ Process and fill orders and pick parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
+ Report any defects or need for repairs.
+ Ensure accuracy of orders against shipment documentation.
+ Utilize computer system to document movement of materials.
+ Perform housekeeping functions as required.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with sit-down forklifts.
+ Inventory control, picking, and packing experience.
+ Background in heavy industrial settings.
+ Experience loading/unloading trucks.
+ General labor and packaging skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Attention to detail.

Work Environment
The facility currently employs 120 people and is in the process of expanding to include three shifts. It is an older facility split into two separate buildings, characterized by a loud, dirty, and hot environment during warm weather, and cold conditions in the winter. Employees will work in specific departments with a supervisor and a set team. The facility includes areas with CNC machinery, weld booths, and racking systems, and is undergoing upgrades to improve conditions. Steel-toed boots are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dyer, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.70 - $19.70/hr.
