Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are in search of a dedicated and mechanically inclined Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will have the overall line responsibility from production to packaging. You will operate the computer system that works our bottle machines, stack finished products, monitor production, and pull samples for the lab. In addition, you will be required to record production and problems encountered during your shift, ensuring goods are produced and packaged in correct quantity and in accordance with agreed specifications. You will work to ensure that the team is efficient and works together harmoniously. Regularly standing, walking, and reaching will be part of your daily tasks. You will be expected to lift 10 lbs regularly, 30 lbs frequently, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

+ Operate the computer system that manages bottle machines.

+ Stack finished products and monitor production.

+ Pull samples for lab testing.

+ Record production data and any issues encountered.

+ Ensure products are produced and packaged in correct quantities and specifications.

+ Promote teamwork and efficiency within the production team.

+ Lift and manage weights as required: 10 lbs regularly, 30 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ years of machine operating experience.

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position in Iowa City, Iowa, specializing in the manufacturing of bottles and caps for products such as shampoo, conditioner, mouth wash, and hand soap. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, long pants, jeans or khakis, and a t-shirt. Ear plugs, hair nets, and other necessary items will be provided. The shifts are 12-hour switch shifts, 2 on 2 off, 3 on 3 off, with times from 6:00 pm to 6:30 am. A 30-day probationary period includes training from 6 AM to 6 PM, following the same shift pattern. Compliance with GMP guidelines is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Iowa City, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
