Job Description
Applies knowledge and methodology of science of physics to all aspects of medicine, to address problems related to therapeutic radiology or radiation oncology in the treatment of human disease. Provides technical guidance to Physicist and other staff and lead the efforts of clinical implementation of new technology in the area of radiation oncology physics in general.
Job Responsibility
1.Provides strategic advice and guidance to the Radiation Physics function.
2.Provides technical guidance and direction to physicists.
3.Develops and/or evaluates, with the medical practitioner, the dosimetric component of patients' treatment plans.
4.Uses imaging procedures pertaining to simulation and treatment planning/delivery in therapeutic radiologic procedures.
5.Assesses image quality and optimizes imaging systems and processes.
6.Provides evidence of equipment compliance for radiation therapy treatment, brachytherapy, simulation, and radiation detection.
7.Consults with physicians on the physics related to treatment planning, radiation protection, and delivery.
8.Reviews radiation oncology dosimetry and treatment implementation information in patient records.
9.Designs, tests, and documents radiation treatment techniques for individual patients and for treatment classes in consultation with radiation oncologists and technical staff.
10.Calibrates and characterizes radiation beams; evaluation of radiation doses, safety, and associated risks on patients, staff, and/or the general public; assesses radiation shielding and medical physics applications to protect patients, staff, and the general public.

Job Qualification
Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Current license and certification to practice as a Medical Physicist in NYS, required. License and certification must be in speciality area appropriate to area of assignment.
Plus specialized certifications as needed.
10+ years of relevant experience and
2+ years of leadership / management experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $205200-$359100/year
