Job Description

Assists in performing senior functions in air conditioning shop including, control of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and automated alarm systems.

Job Responsibility

+ Performs preventive maintenance and repairs; participates in alteration and construction work.

+ Assists in maintaining all air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilating systems in the Hospital; conducts periodic maintenance work on all equipment in Air Conditioning Shop.

+ Maintains automated control systems for heat and air conditioning, and new construction and alteration jobs within the Hospital.

+ Installs new or upgraded equipment; coordinates installations made with other trades.

+ Installs air conditioning and refrigeration units, ice machines, blowers, and exhaust fans; carries out work orders as requested by Department Head/Supervisor as to requirements of their areas; i.e. additional air conditioning or exhaust, or upgrading of equipment.

+ Performs emergency repairs; responds in emergency situations and expedites as quickly as possible in conjunction with other trades.

+ Performs any other repairs considered emergency by Supervisor of A/C and Refrigeration Shop; assists in snow removal duty.

+ Demonstrates efficiency in the use of tools, hand and power; maintains and handles tools in a safe and proper manner.

+ Demonstrates working knowledge of all power saws, pipe cutting machines, grinders, and specialty tools.

Job Qualification

+ High School Diploma or equivalent required.

+ 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $41.3474-$45.2142/hour
