United Health Services, a four-hospital, integrated health system in Central New York, is expanding. Neurosciences is a signature service line for the health system, especially for stroke and neurosurgical care, and we have identified a need to expand our neurology team due to increased demand.
We are looking to add a Neuro Critical Care physician to join the team in Upstate New York.
Position Highlights:
- 7 on - 7 off schedule, 24/7 coverage during on week
- Medical/ Surgical/ Neuro ICU with 14 beds, flexed to meet each service's needs. Separate 16-bed cardio-vascular ICU
- Bi-planar angio, Camino ICP monitoring equipment, CSF drainage equipment, cEEG monitoring
- Avg. daily patient census is 8-10
- NeuroICU with 2 fellowship trained neurointensivists
- Close collaboration with neurosurgery and neurointerventional services
- Faculty appointment at SUNY Upstate
- APC support
- Epic EMR

UHS Binghamton is a 220-bed facility offering medical, surgical and rehabilitation care and offers an array of programs and services. UHS Wilson Medical Center is a 280-bed teaching hospital with Level 2 trauma and pending Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center designations (currently a Primary Stroke Center). Currently, they have a Medical/ Surgical/ Neuro ICU with 14 beds, flexed to meet each service's needs and a separate 16-bed cardio-vascular ICU.
Binghamton is a picturesque town in the Southern Tier region of New York near the Susquehanna and Chenango Rivers. It is home to many companies like Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, IBM, Rockwell Collins and L-3 Communications. There are several colleges and universities and many public and private schooling options. A host of cultural opportunities are offered in Binghamton including the Binghamton Philharmonic, Tri-Cities Opera, Cider Mill Playhouse, Roberson Museum and Science Center, Binghamton Zoo, Kopernik Observatory & Science Center and Cutler Botanic Garden. Minor league and collegiate sports teams, golf courses and youth sporting events are popular in the community. The city is also known for its beautiful bicycling and walking trails. And if you want to hit the big city, Manhattan is only 3 hours away.
Salary Range: $447,763 - $471,400 Annually
