General Description:
The Pipeline and Business Development Valuation team is an integral part of BeOne’s Global Commercial Strategy and Operations (GCSO) organization. This position offers a candidate the opportunity to significantly contribute to the growth of BeOne. This role will be responsible for leading commercial assessments for internal pipeline programs and developing comprehensive commercial forecasts. This role will also be leading business development valuations and ad-hoc cross-functional initiatives.
Essential Functions:
+ Develop and maintain forecasts for pipeline assets including assumptions, methodologies, and documentation.
+ Assess forecast risk and uncertainty, run sensitivities analysis and scenarios.
+ Conduct primary and secondary market research to understand disease epidemiology, patient segmentation, treatment paradigm, unmet medical needs, competitive landscape, etc.
+ Translate insights from market research to both qualitative and quantitative commercial assessment.
+ Support major planning processes such as LRP, portfolio prioritization and other strategic planning cycles with forecast submissions, scenarios, and narratives.
+ Coordinate inputs and data from internal sources and external datasets; ensure data quality and consistent use of definitions/assumptions across teams.
+ Provide commercial/business case assessment to inform pipeline programs’ go-no-go and critical investment decisions.
+ Present and defend commercial cases in front of senior leadership.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish Target Product Profiles and develop market positioning strategies for early-stage pipeline programs.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish relevant Disease Area Strategies.
Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience:
+ BS with 10 plus years or an MS with 7 plus years or a Doctorate level degree with 5 plus years of experience in commercial assessment/new product planning/disease area strategy/early commercialization from the pharmaceutical industry, consulting, or equity analyst roles.
+ Oncology and Immunology & inflammatory disease area knowledge/experience strongly preferred.
Other Experience:
+ Demonstrated track-record in indication-, and patient-level forecasting methodologies.
+ Proficient in both primary and secondary market research.
+ Excellent communication skills and strong analytical skills required to analyze scientific and financial data, synthesize insights and stories behind the data, and prepare precise as well as concise presentations for senior executives’ review.
+ Experience of working in a cross-functional setting.
+ Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize work.
+ Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
+ Ability to coach junior team members.
+ Excellent learning capability and aspiration for excellence.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Travel:
+ Infrequent (<10%) national travel for internal meetings and conferences.
+ Ability to work across global time zones.
Computer Skills:
+ Advanced Excel
+ Data visualization (Tableau, Power BI)
+ Programming knowledge such as Python, R, SQL (nice-to-have)
