    Overview

     

    As a Global Collections Finance Manager, you will maximize protection of Microsoft’s investments in Accounts Receivable (AR), while acting as a trusted advisor to the business and delivering key decision support, enabling profitable growth, and effectively managing the lifecycle of the dollar. You will be accountable for accelerating cash flow and optimizing collections performance.

     

    This role champions customer obsession across the organization, acting as a trusted source of knowledge and ensuring the customer’s voice influences business decisions. Additionally, it focuses on building solid relationships, driving adoption of solutions, and resolving escalations effectively.

    Responsibilities

    People:

    + Practice Microsoft’s leadership principles – communicate with clarity, generate positive energy, and deliver results.

    + Invest in learning, AI (artificial intelligence) skill building and career development.

    Prioritization:

    + Collections Management – Independently manage collections and cash applications for assigned portfolio, providing support, direction and leadership. Utilize AI to drive improvements in collections portfolio to achieve targets.  Ensure prudent and necessary business decisions to manage risk and facilitate collections.  Address customer payment issues and leverage the Business Engagement team to assist.

    + Project participation and/or leadership on initiatives, including AI projects that are necessary to enable our business processes keep up with significant year-over-year growth.

    + Empower vendors and suppliers globally, as well as hold them accountable for process adherence and meeting Service Level Agreement commitments. Management of standard rhythm and engagement with our vendor. Support escalations and Service Level Agreements / Key Performance Indicators management, while delivering impact and great customer experience.

    Partnership:

    + Work with policy owners to drive program improvements and compliance, while driving forward changes and evolution of business processes to best support Treasury and Microsoft customer needs.

    + Drive positive customer experience by understanding customer needs, supporting customer satisfaction initiatives, and addressing customer and stakeholder queries/escalations.

    + Partner with teams across Microsoft, both internal and external to Treasury, on projects and initiatives to deliver best in class processes, reporting, AR performance, and a world class customer experience.

    + Partner with key stakeholders and organizations within Microsoft to accomplish objectives of improved Collections, dispute resolution, risk mitigation, customer satisfaction, and decision support.

    + Business Process Excellence - Leverage Treasury's Business Process Outsourcer (BPO) to achieve agreed performance metrics.  Partner with the BPO and BPO Manager to ensure execution and delivery of goals.

    + Support Audit, Tax, and Trade teams to ensure timely delivery of documentation requests related to Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other compliance requirements.

    Security:

    + Ensure strict adherence to and an understanding of Microsoft policies and hold BPOs accountable to the same strict standards.

    + Drive compliance culture through actions and decisions to instill trust and advocate, educate, and promote best practices and new developments.

    + Champion Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards.

    Qualifications

    Required/Minimum Qualifications

    + Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.

    Additional or Preferred Qualifications

    + Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 3+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 5+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.

    + Ability to effectively communicate with leaders, members of management and different audiences, including presentation and cross-group collaboration skills.

    + Ability to influence others with empathy while under pressure to deliver compliant time-based outcomes to key stakeholders and customers.

    + Motivated with ability to identify and articulate customer value through using technology.

     

    \#Finance

     

    Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.
