    As a Senior Software II (SAP Technologies), you will design, code/config, test, deploy, and support missioncritical features for our SAP SuccesssFactors implementation, building scalable software and services that leverage cuttingedge technologies along with as AI, SAP BTP / Azure cloud platforms, and security solutions. You’ll champion quality through testdriven development, automated testing, and robust CI/CD pipelines, while instrumenting telemetry to give realtime visibility, accelerate troubleshooting, and continuously improve reliability. Working closely with peers across multiple teams, you’ll create flexible, highperformance components that enable the next generation of business services, directly impacting Microsoft’s core workloads

     

    This position is based at the Redmond campus with 3 days per week work in the office and 2 days per week work from home. Relocation assistance is available.

    Responsibilities

    Code/Config Development & Reviews

    + Design, Implement, Validate, Release components/services/systems using your software engineering (designing, code/config, review, testing, debugging, problem solving and analytical) skills in agile team that will measurably add value to our business partners and stakeholders.

    + Write highly efficient clean code/config that can process large amounts of transactions with low latency and high reliability.

    + Conduct incident retrospectives and implement repair actions with guidance

    + Apply least-access principles while investigating issues with appropriate privacy and security

    + Identify and escalate blockers, communicating impact on timelines

    Design & Architecture

    + Understand technical proposals and apply them under leadership guidance

    + Test and explore design options, outlining strengths and weaknesses

    + Produce code/config to test hypotheses and assist with technical validation

    + Contribute to design documents supporting simple user stories

    + Learn about performance, scalability, resiliency, and COGS implications

    + Support dependency identification and cross-team collaboration

    + Build testable code/config and understand common test types and strategies

    + Leverage AI tools for test automation with oversight

    Engineering Excellence

    + Learn and follow processes for security, privacy, safety, and accessibility

    + Contribute to compliance evidence and audit trail efforts

    + Develop understanding of global and local technology regulations

    + Apply security best practices and "security as code" principles with supervision

    + Support deployment gates, security controls, and vulnerability scanners

    + Contribute to threat modeling, security drills, and incident response processes

    + Run code/config in non-production environments to confirm functionality

    + Seek new knowledge to improve availability, reliability, and performance

    + Share ideas and leverage developer tools to create, debug, and maintain code

    Implementation & Delivery

    + Review work items to increase product knowledge with stakeholder guidance

    + Support breaking down work items into tasks and provide estimation

    + Escalate issues that may cause delays

    + Ensure assigned code is properly flighted for incident mitigation

    + Contribute to capacity planning, failover, and disaster recovery mechanisms

    + Support rollback plan establishment and safe deployment practices

    + Monitor dependency status; ensure latest secure versions are deployed

    + Contribute to deployment infrastructure for production-like testing

    Reliability & Supportability

    + Act as DRI for monitoring system degradation and downtime on simple problems

    + Follow playbook to recommend restoration actions; escalate complex issues

    + Respond within SLA timeframe

    + Contribute to live site operations on rotational on-call basis with supervision

    + Identify solutions for simple issues; escalate appropriately

    + Provide recommendations to improve TSGs, wikis, and telemetry

    + Learn to integrate logging and instrumentation for telemetry data

    + Analyze metrics on system health and bug occurrences

    + Consider privacy implications of telemetry changes with guidance

    User Requirements

    + Partner with internal stakeholders to understand customer requirements

    + Contribute to incorporating customer insights into solution fixes

    + Learn to incorporate feedback loops measuring quantitative and qualitative value

    + Develop understanding of customer security and privacy needs

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + 3+ years of end-to-end life cycle design and implementations of application using SAP SuccessFactors and/or SAP HCM ECC.

    + Experience developing SAP SuccessFactors HXM suite or SAP HCM solutions.

    + Experience in design, developing and implementing module Employee Central, Onboarding and Recruiting which meets the business requirements of the organization.

    + Experience in developing Integration using SAP Integration suite and / or Supporting Integration developers using SuccessFactors OData API’s.

    + Foundational knowledge of Business Rules, workflows and Provisioning configurations.

    + Experience with performance tuning, optimize Business rules and improve responsiveness of the application.

    + Experience with automated test frameworks to ensure functionality, compatibility and performance.

    + Experience working in Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban/etc.)

    + Experience in developing other SF modules like Succession planning, Compensations, Benefits, Succession Planning and LMS.

    Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
