    Overview

     

    Applies in-depth knowledge of the business, the evolving data landscape, tools, and technologies, and the lineage of those data to proactively identify opportunities. Commits to a customer- and/or stakeholder-oriented focus. Establishes themselves as an expert in data sources, formats, and data quality issues, and shares expertise to reinforce best practices and guide others. Guides others to, and shares insights, analytical expertise, and relevant data-driven results through various means. Consults and provides recommendations for the ideal factors to include in formal experimentation or the development of prototypes/proofs of concepts that are likely to yield the most reliable assessment of impact. Conducts thorough review of data analysis and analytical modeling techniques used to summarize the process review and highlight areas that have been missed or need to be reexamined. Establishes and leverages working relationships within and across teams to ensure alignment and quality execution of data sourcing, methods, model development and application, and the optimal use of analytical tools and processes. Ensures they are consistently aware of changes to, and maintain expertise in data privacy and security requirements, responsible and ethical data handling and AI practices, and that classification and governance rules and regulations are consistently applied in work activities and results.

    Responsibilities

    Data Analysis

    + Applies expertise in data, business, and customer needs to determine optimal analytical and statistical techniques and leads others through the execution of complex analyses involving multiple data sets and/or sources. Interprets results within relevant business contexts and addresses business and/or research questions with actionable recommendations. Identifies gaps in analytical tools and models and guides others to do the same, provides feedback on features and/or functions, and recommends changes to architecture, tools, and/or techniques to collect, analyze, and share data-driven insights, while ensuring alignment with business and/or research needs. Anticipates the risks of data leakage, analytical tradeoffs, methodological limitations, etc., and can guide teammates on solutions.

    Data Model Evaluation

    + Conducts thorough review of data analysis and analytical modeling techniques used to summarize the process review and highlight areas that have been missed or need to be reexamined. Ensures alignment on definitions and standards across stakeholders to support consistency in data model usage across stakeholders and/or teams. Utilizes results of the assessment and process review to decide on next steps (i.e., deployment, further iterations, new projects). Coaches and mentors less experienced analysts as needed. Identifies new evaluation approaches, metrics, and methodologies to evaluate data models and promotes their use across teams.

    Orchestration and Collaboration

    + Establishes and leverages working relationships within and across teams to ensure alignment and quality execution of data sourcing, methods, model development and application, and the optimal use of analytical tools and processes. Partners with internal and external stakeholders to provide guidance on the adoption of recommended data sources and analytical best practices to address business needs and deliver key insights and results. Strategically leverages thought leadership and expertise to draw insights and lead innovation to address use cases and/or evolving business needs. Proactively manages and leads actions across their network of peers to leverage data, resources, and solutions that were instrumental to success in similar contexts, and shares expertise across teams (e.g., vendors) to inform decisions related to data sourcing, analyses, and the interpretation of analytical results.

    Qualifications

    Required/minimum qualifications

    + Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 4+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 6+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience.

    Additional or preferred qualifications

    + Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 8+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 12+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience.

     

    Data Analytics IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
