**Job Title:** Mailroom Associate
**Location:** Golden Valley, MN
**Job Type:** Hourly Consultant
**Hours:** M-F 8 am to 5 pm
**Pay:** $19/hr, Sorry no vacation or holiday pay, you can take time off, it would be unpaid.
This position will be sorting, delivering and picking up mail and packages. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time. Required to walk to different building locations to deliver mail, packages, etc.
There is some driving with this role, using your own personal vehicle. Mileage will be reimbursed. Must have a valid driver's license and no more than one moving violation in the last three years.
Essential Functions:
+ Operate high-level mail and finishing equipment, including mail inserters, sorters, postage meters, envelope printers, scales, and other automated, high-speed/high-volume mail equipment.
+ Perform packaging, posting, labeling, mail merge, and fulfillment activities in an automated environment.
+ Receive, sort, scan, log, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and faxes; notify recipients and complete scheduled mail runs for delivery and pickup.
+ Prepare outbound mail and packages for USPS, air express, courier, and local delivery services; coordinate pickups and deliveries.
+ Perform charge-back reporting for postage, air express, local delivery, and fax services.
+ Maintain and update mailing lists using customized software; perform address cleanup, validation, and barcode address quality review.
+ Implement and maintain distribution, tracking, barcode scanning, and face-scanning systems for incoming and outgoing mail.
+ Track, trace, and resolve mail issues with USPS, express carriers, and local delivery services.
+ Perform finishing work such as folding, inserting, assembling, kitting, packaging, shipping, and tracking materials.
+ Manage electronic mail distribution, including opening, preparation, scanning, and electronic distribution.
+ Monitor, order, and replenish mailroom and distribution supplies; maintain inventory levels.
+ Fully operate, clean, and maintain all mail and shipping equipment; contact service providers when maintenance or repairs are required.
+ Recommend process improvements to optimize workflow, efficiency, and cost savings.
+ Serve as focal contact for special or unique mailings and shipments.
+ Follow all mailroom security procedures and quality control standards.
+ Work at two nearby locations (less than 5 miles apart); driving between sites is required.
Skills:
+ Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
+ Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
+ Intermediate PC and Internet skills, including downloading/installing files, completing online forms, and performing mail merges.
+ Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word (tables, columns, headers/footers, forms, sections).
+ Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (multiple worksheets, charts/graphs, basic formulas and functions).
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
+ Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and other account-relevant or graphic arts applications.
+ Basic knowledge of networking (e.g., adding or deleting network printers).
+ Basic knowledge of Digital Front Ends and functional knowledge of Mac systems when required.
+ Ability to determine output packaging per established standards (e.g., books, tabs, inserts).
+ Demonstrated proficiency using production mail software and shipping systems such as Pitney Bowes and FedEx.
+ Strong customer service, communication, multitasking, data entry, and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to estimate, schedule, and manage mailing jobs, including staffing, job paths, and time requirements.
+ Ability to train and mentor other mailroom associates.
Experience:
+ 1–2 years of experience with mailroom procedures and operating mail and finishing equipment in a high-volume environment.
Education:
+ Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
