    Description of Job

    Elections Division

     

    The Elections Division supports the Secretary of State, as the state’s chief election official, by administering and supervising statutory and constitutional provisions that relate directly or indirectly to the conduct of Colorado elections. These include certifying content to the ballot, publishing the abstract of vote totals, as well as overseeing the verification of petitions for ballot issues, campaign finance filings and enforcement, lobbyist filings and enforcement, voting equipment certifications, requirements of the National Voter Registration Act and the Help America Vote Act, and maintaining the statewide voter registration system.

     

    Illustration of duties

     

    + Assist with developing and delivering online and in-person course content that promotes uniformity and best practices.

    + Manage certification and training related administrative tasks.

    + Collaborate with internal and external stakeholder groups.

    + Maintain confidentiality of all voters confidential and personal identifying information, personnel information, and any other confidential or proprietary information, as well as comply with all State and Department policies regarding professional conduct and professional practices.

    Duties to include:

    Assist with Developing and Delivering Online and In-Person Training

     

    + Plan and schedule in-person training twice per year in coordination with county regional meetings, where appropriate.

    + Coordinate planning and scheduling other training projects like new clerks training, tabletop exercises, and internal staff training.

     

    Manage Certification and Training Related Administrative Tasks

     

    + Maintain current and organized Division records of training courses and materials.

    + Assist new trainees with enrolling and navigating the e-learning platform.

    + Assist trainees with login and issues accessing training courses.

    + Accurately track and record course completions and credits earned by enrolled trainees during the applicable certification/recertification period.

    + Issue certifications or recertifications to trainees who satisfy the requirements and advise trainees who did not satisfy the requirements that their certifications have lapsed.

     

    Collaborate with Internal and External Stakeholder Groups

     

    + Conduct training evaluations following every in-person training to solicit participant feedback on the course design, delivery, and content.

    + Regularly seek feedback from participants on the course design, delivery, and content of online trainings.

    + Synthesize and review course evaluations and online course feedback to identify barriers to learning, gaps in the existing curriculum, and other training need, and discuss the summarized findings with Division leadership and subject matter experts.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    This position requires a total offive (5) yearsof relevant professional experience and/or education as outlined below. To be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate that you meetone of the following optionsoutlined below:

     

    OPTION 1 – Experience

     

    Five (5) years of professional experience in education/training coordination or instructional support, to include coordinating logistics such as scheduling, developing training materials, and using common presentation software.

    OR

    OPTION 2– Experience and/or Education – Be sure you’ve attached a copy of your unofficial transcript to qualify for this option.

     

    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in education, business administration, communications, organizational leadership, public administration, or a closely related field.
