Medical Assistant – Corrections(3 Openings)

Aberdeen, WA | $30/hr | 13-WeekContract with Possibility to Extend**

We’re seeking three qualifiedMedical Assistants to support a correctional facility in Aberdeen, WA. Thisenvironment functions very similarly to a primary care or urgent care clinic.Corrections experience is not required . Providers and nursing staff aresupportive, and MAs are typically paired with one or two clinicians.

Available Schedules

2 openings: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

1 opening: Tuesday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM

Assignment Details

13-week contract with potential to extend

Primary care/urgent care–style workflow

Duties may include basic clinical support, rooming, vitals, assisting providers, and phlebotomy

Fast-paced but structured environment

Start date approximately 2–3 weeks after onboarding and clearance

Requirements

Active Washington State Medical Assistant Certificate (required)

BLS (AHA)

Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen

Recent physical

Recent negative TB test

Prior corrections experience not required

Overview of Responsibilities

Provide clinical support to providers during patient encounters

Perform vitals, patient intake, documentation, and basic clinical tasks

Support minor procedures and wound care when needed

Conduct phlebotomy as required

Maintain accurate EMR documentation

Ensure compliance with facility and safety protocols

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Assistant responsible for performing duties under the direction of a physician to assist in the examination and treatment of patients.

Minimum Requirements:

+ High School diploma or its equivalent

+ Good telephone communication skills

+ Knowledge of medical terminology

+ Knowledge of medical procedures

+ Knowledge of clerical functions

+ Current CPR card (if applicable)

+ Current PPD or Chest X-Ray (if applicable)

+ Current Health Certificate (if applicable)

+ Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification preferred

+ Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred.

+ Relevant certification/ license if applicable.

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
