Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher - California
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (follow the school calendar)
Start Date: January 5, 2026
Pay: $35/hour (Weekly Pay)
Position Overview
Amergis is seeking a dedicated Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher to join a charter school in Fresno. This role utilizes a push-in/pull-out model rather than a designated classroom, providing specialized support across settings to ensure individualized instruction and services are delivered effectively.
Responsibilities
+ Deliver direct instruction and support to students with mild/moderate disabilities.
+ Collaborate with general education teachers to implement push-in/pull-out services.
+ Manage a caseload of approximately 17–22 students.
+ Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state and district guidelines.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring.
+ Communicate regularly with families, staff, and administrators to support student success.
Qualifications
+ Preferred: Fully credentialed Mild/Moderate SPED Teacher.
+ Considered: Preliminary credential holders with strong qualifications.
+ Strong collaboration and communication skills.
+ Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and environments.
+ Commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments.
Interview Process
Candidates should be prepared for a thorough interview process, which includes:
+ Interview with the SPED Director and Superintendent.
+ Four-hour shadowing interview to observe and engage in the school environment.
+ Possible final panel interview (if needed).
