About the Role
We are seeking amission-driven Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) to supportstudent success across EC–12 by delivering high-quality psychoeducationalservices, ensuring special education compliance, and collaborating withmultidisciplinary teams. The LSSP will lead comprehensive evaluations, designevidence-based interventions, and contribute to data-driven decisions thatuphold IDEA, FAPE, and Texas-specific procedures.
The Educator must have recentexperience working for Texas schools and, willing to travel to the schools asneeded. Ideally, a Bilingual School Psychologist is preferred (Spanish) but notrequired.
Responsibilities andDuties
+ Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations (cognitive, academic, social-emotional/behavioral, adaptive) in accordance with IDEA and Texas Special Education requirements.
+ Administer, score, and interpret standardized assessments (e.g., WISC-V, WIAT-4, BASC-3, Vineland-3, ADOS-2 where applicable), classroom observations, rating scales, and functional assessments.
+ Develop high-quality evaluation reports with clear eligibility determinations, present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFP), and IEP-linked recommendations.
• Intervention &Consultation
+ Design and monitor evidence-based academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions aligned to MTSS/RTI frameworks.
+ Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) with progress-monitoring and fidelity checks.
+ Provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, and short-term counseling as needed; support campus crisis response teams.
• Compliance &Documentation
+ Ensure special education compliance through accurate timelines (initials, reevaluations), prior written notice, and procedural safeguards.
+ Maintain IEP alignment, coordinate ARD/IEP committee processes, and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards per state and federal regulations.
+ Support Section 504 processes (evaluation, eligibility, plan development, accommodations).
• Collaboration &Teaming
+ Collaborate with general education and special education staff, related services (SLP, OT, PT), school counselors, and administrators to implement data-driven supports.
+ Present findings to ARD committees, lead problem-solving teams, and provide professional development on assessment, behavior supports, and progress monitoring.
+ Partner with families to ensure culturally responsive practices and shared decision-making.
Education and CertificationMinimum Qualifications
+ Current Texas LSSP license (issued via Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council/TSBEP); in good standing.
+ Master’s or Specialist degree (SSP/Ed.S.) or, Doctorate in School Psychology from an accredited program.
+ Solida knowledge of IDEA, FAPE, Child Find, ARD/IEP processes, Section 504, FERPA, and Texas Education Agency (TEA) procedures.
+ Excels in conducting psychoeducational assessments, writing eligibility reports, and implementing MTSS/RTI interventions.
