Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Hours per Week: 40

Pay Rate: $50/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Position Overview

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality services to special education students from kindergarten through grade 12. This role requires a strong commitment to collaboration and team participation in planning and implementing student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff.

Key Responsibilities

+ Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.

+ Provide specialized instruction and support in academic and behavioral areas.

+ Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.

+ Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and district regulations.

Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).

+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations.

+ Minimum of one year experience in a teaching environment (preferred).

+ State Teacher Certification:

+ Standard Elementary Teaching (preferred)

+ Standard Secondary Teaching (preferred)

+ Standard Special Teaching (preferred)

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.

+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.

+ Current CPR certification (if applicable).

+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable).

+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
