Seattle Children’s is seeking passionate, newly graduated, or early-career **Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) and Physician Assistants (PAs)** for our **Psychiatry APP Fellowship** .

     

    This one-year, intensive program is designed to bridge the gap between academic training and specialized pediatric psychiatric practice.     Our Mission

     

    The APP Fellowship Program at Seattle Children’s supports APPs in successfully entering practice within a complex pediatric setting. We provide the structure needed to build on your graduate training, strengthening the domains critical to becoming a confident, expert provider in pediatric mental health.

    Program Goals & Learning Objectives

    The fellowship is structured to ensure you emerge as a well-rounded pediatric psychiatric provider through:

    + **Clinical Mastery:** Strengthening critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and procedural confidence.

    + **Mentorship:** Developing your unique practice style through exposure to multiple mentors and continuous, constructive feedback.

    + **Interdisciplinary Collaboration:** Understanding the diverse roles of APPs and how they contribute to high-functioning care teams.

    + **Lifelong Learning:** Cultivating a self-directed approach to professional development and education.

     

    Important Dates

     

    Application Deadline: May 11th

     

    Cohort Start Date: September 28th

     

    Program Duration: Approximately 12 Months

    For Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP)

    + **Education:** Master’s degree or higher in Nursing with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP).

    + **Experience:** 1 year of pediatric or family-focused clinical work; experience in Acute Care or Pediatric Mental Health is strongly preferred.

    + **Licensure:** Active, unencumbered WA State RN and ARNP licenses.

    + **Certification:** National certification as a PMHNP; current BLS and active DEA registration.

    For Physician Assistants (PA)

    + **Education:** Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant program.

    + **Experience:** 1 year of healthcare experience (strong pediatric/mental health component preferred).

    + **Licensure:** Active, unencumbered WA State Physician Assistant license.

    + **Certification:** Initial certification by the NCCPA; current BLS and active DEA registration.

     

    Credentialing & Privileges

     

    All Fellows must obtain and maintain Allied Health Provider privileges at Seattle Children’s Hospital prior to their start date.

     

    + **Term:** Privileges are tied to employment and conclude at the end of the fellowship term unless a permanent position is offered and accepted.

    + **Compliance:** Privileges must remain in good standing (not limited, suspended, or revoked).

    Compensation:

    **Salary:** $134,649 per year

    **Relocation:** Assistance is available for qualified candidates.

     

    Salary Information

     

    This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
