We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Implementation Supervisor to join our Facilities Department in San Diego, CA.
Reporting to the Manager of Project Implementation and Engineering, the Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of project managers located in Southern California. Our project management professionals serve as owner’s representatives supporting projects across the United States building diverse projects in the defense, manufacturing, energy, and commercial sector.
Under your leadership, your team will be responsible for the execution of multi-year projects ranging from $20k-$50M in value and totaling approximately 100 projects annually. You will collaborate with project stakeholders and internal business partners (EH&S, Security, Procurement, Operations, etc.) across the enterprise with the primary objective of delivering critical projects on time and budget. The ideal candidate has Sr. Project Management skills, will be organized, an excellent communicator, and always demonstrate a calm and professional demeanor.
A successful Project Implementation Supervisor will demonstrate flexibility and agility in order to meet the needs of our customers and drive our business forward. They will understand the organizational vision, develop people to be their very best, and work efficiently to get results.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Directly supervises project managers both onsite and at remote locations.
+ Train, coach, mentor project managers which range in experience and skill levels.
+ Support customers by guiding project managers on critical projects and tight deadlines.
+ Identify logjams, unknows, issues, potential setbacks early and communicate those with stakeholders.
+ Formulate and recommend policies, objectives, plans, procedures, and schedules for the department.
+ Develop and administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
+ Assign tasks, reviews work, and provides direction to staff while ensuring business objectives are met within established timelines.
+ Occasionally required to directly manage special projects
+ Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the company.
+ Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
+ Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
+ Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management or a related discipline and nine or more years of progressive professional experience in facilities management with at least three of those years in a management role. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
+ Must have the ability to lead others through effective communication and performance management. This also includes an ability to increase employee engagement and morale with frequent feedback, support, training, and coaching.
+ Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of project management principles and construction implementation within diverse commercial, industrial, manufacturing and lab facilities.
+ Must be able to organize, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet established milestones.
+ Must possess thorough understanding of facility systems and components.
+ Must have experience managing contractors, negotiation, review of invoices and change orders.
+ Must understand project schedules and the ability to articulate critical path and recognize project slippage.
+ Must be proficient in Procore, Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and similar software.
+ Must be able to read plans, understand and develop metrics and goals. This includes reviewing and creating reports and executive summaries.
+ Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of complex matters of diverse scope and nature; (3) excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including senior management (4) excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees, including senior managers and senior external parties; (5) the ability to select, train, and inspire personnel
+ Must be able to work extended hours and travel as required.
