    Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Production Planner to join our team in Raynham, MA.

     

    _Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals._

    Purpose:

    Production Planners are responsible for the entire Manufacturing Planning & Control process for the site product portfolio. This inclusive of support S&OP Process, Master Production Schedule, Materials Requirement Planning, Capacity Planning & Production Sequencing. Presenting status, projecting inventory position, and updating customers and suppliers of changes to forecast are integral parts of this role. The Production Planner will also be the value stream (VS) primary point-of-contact for operations and will ensure proactive communication to all relevant customers.

    POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Plans, schedules, and coordinates production resources for a range of products with low to moderate complexity and/or number to meet the Master Production Schedule and/or customer orders.

    + Analyzes product demand, sales patterns/forecasts, production specifications and plant capacity data.

    + Resolves manufacturing resource and material availability issues affecting schedule.

    + Generates work orders and allocate associated materials.

    + Monitors planning modules or production planning system and related master data information (Inventory, Safety Stock, Lot size, Lead Time, Work Orders, etc).

    + Monitors and find opportunities for improving lead time improvement.

    + Establishes effective communication with various groups such as customers, sales offices, operations, site and/or production departments as required. Monitors work orders from start to ensure the timely delivery of products.

    + Understand and meet Planning main KPI’s such as Attainment to Schedule, Schedule Attainment and Master Plan Attainment, failure mode analysis with corrections.

    + Reviews capacity loads and identifies possible manufacturing constraints. Monitors and anticipates production issues due to capacity and new product launches.

    + Ensures various systems data integrity of signals.

    + Generates purchase requisitions/Purchase Orders as needed.

    + Participates in new product launch meetings and assist in developing new product forecasts and production schedules.

    + Lead and identifies improvement opportunities for plant or manufacturing unit supply S&OPs as required.

    + Identify and drives opportunities to improve inventory investment through inventory entitlement model for applicable production line. Including reviewing “Excess & Obsolete” inventory.

    + Drives Lean / Six Sigma Improvement Kaizens or Opportunities.

    + Back-up to other planners and/or mentors Junior Planners which includes ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.

    + Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of integrity, ethics, and compliance always.

    + Responsible for communicating business related issues and/or opportunities to next management level.

    + Additional duties as assigned.

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION*

    + A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. A focused degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field is preferred.

    + A minimum of 2-5 years of related experience in supply chain or process excellence is required.

    + 2+ years of experience working with MPS/MRP in a manufacturing environment is required.

    + Experience with ERP (SAP/APO/SNP) & Advanced Planning Systems (OMP) is preferred

    + Planning, Purchasing or Manufacturing experience in a Medical/ Pharmaceutical or Consumer industry preferred.

    + Familiarity with relevant legislation (e.g. GMP, ISO requirements) preferred.

    + Proficiency in MS Office, specifically MS Excel, is required.

    + Ability to read and comprehend procedures and process instructions on drawings is required.

    + SAP, Alteryx, Windchill Doc experience desired/ plus.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Capabilities:

    + Ability to apply project and personal leadership to successfully achieve project, team, and individual goals.

    + Ability to share knowledge and personal experience with peers. Mentor others when appropriate.

    + Ability to build strong relationships, considering perspectives and styles.

    + Ability to challenge the status quo and evaluate processes to resolve if refinements would improve speed of results and productivity or quality &/or work with Continuous Improvement tools.

    + Ability to analyze data to identify and resolve exceptions targeting to minimize supply disruptions.

    + Ability to work with multiple scenarios, identify costs/benefit trade-offs and suggest recommendations supported on data and insights.

    + Ability to translate complex situations into simple working solutions.

    + Able to work with limited supervision.

    + Able to work in an ERP systems/concepts required.

    Certifications/Licenses:

    + Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Certifications desirable.

    + Supply Chain Certifications (APICS/ IBF) desirable.
