• Part-time Overnight Desk Attendant, Gatton Academy

    Duties and Responsibilities

     

    + Monitor the residential lobby and desk between the hours of 11:00pm to 7:00am, remaining awake and alert for the duration of the shift

    + Perform rounds of Gatton Academy common spaces every two hours

    + Check IDs of visitors and individuals signing out students against the program's records

    + Record students checking into and out of the program

    + Follow established response plans in the event of emergency or concerning activity

    + Greet and assist students, family members, and visitors of The Gatton Academy

    + Answer the Gatton Academy residential desk phone and accurately direct messages to appropriate staff members

    + Communicate via email and telephone with various Gatton Academy stakeholders

    + Provide exceptional customer service

    + Clerical support (file preparation, sorting, researching, etc.)

    + Other duties as assigned

     

    Knowledge and Skills and Abilities Required

     

    + The ability to maintain confidentiality regarding protected student data, including enrollment information, pharmaceutical deliveries, and medical documentation.

    + Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

    + Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

    + Punctual, dependable, and organized

    Job Requirements:

    + High school diploma or GED

    + Customer service experience

    + Availability for WKU's Fall and Spring semesters

    + Ability to work a rotating schedule, including week days and every other weekend

    Additional Information:

    Hourly Rate: $13.00
