Senior Application Engineer III – Lead Our Technical Evolution

Elevate Your Career with an Industry Leader in Motion

Setpoint Systems Corporation isn't just an award-winning systems integration firm; we are a legacy brand currently experiencing a massive surge in growth. Since 1983, we’ve dominated the Rocky Mountain Region with over 4,000 successful installations. Now, we are scaling our operations and looking for a Senior Application Engineer III to serve as a cornerstone of our expanding engineering department.

We are looking for a "Confident Architect"—someone who balances deep technical curiosity with the decisive leadership needed to guide a dynamic team. If you thrive in a culture of continuous learning, high-level mentorship, and rapid innovation, this is where you belong.

The Role: Lead, Design, and Innovate

As an Application Engineer III, you aren’t just following plans—you are the methodical force driving them. You will take center stage in leading high-stakes building automation projects from initial kickoff to final commissioning, ensuring every solution is a masterclass in precision.

    High-Impact Responsibilities

+ Technical Ownership: Command the full technical scope for our most complex, large-scale building automation projects.

+ Collaborative Leadership: Act as the bridge between Project Managers, junior engineers, and field technicians to ensure a seamless, high-speed delivery.

+ Precision Engineering: Create sophisticated engineering documents, detailed wiring diagrams, and complex sequences of operation (SOO) that define the "Setpoint Standard."

+ Design Strategy: Lead rigorous design reviews, fostering a collaborative environment where team input elevates the final solution.

+ Field Empowerment: Support our field teams with structured handoffs and clear, uncompromising specifications.

+ Systematic Excellence: Maintain a relentless focus on quality control, ensuring every project stays on the fast track while hitting budget and accuracy targets.

+ Cultivate Talent: Take an active role in our growth by mentoring the next generation of engineers and contributing to our internal "Center of Excellence" training.

Who You Are: The Motivated Expert

We are assembling a team of high-achievers. You are a perfect fit if you:

+ Seek Depth: You are naturally curious and refuse to implement a solution until you fully master the underlying system.

+ Value Velocity & Accuracy: You take pride in being flawless, even when the pace is fast and the stakes are high.

+ Lead by Example: You believe in team success and communicate with a clarity that builds instant trust with peers and clients.

+ Predict & Prevent: You have the "senior-level intuition" to anticipate risks and address them through sound judgment and thorough documentation.

+ Are a Life-Long Learner: You are driven to improve yourself and the systems you touch every single day.

    Qualifications for Success

+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.

+ Experience: 5+ years of heavy-hitting experience in building automation or HVAC controls engineering.

+ Platform Expertise: Mastery of Delta Controls, Tridium (Niagara), or similar high-end BAS platforms.

+ Design Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in control system drawings, equipment schedules, and complex logic.

+ Proven Leadership: A track record of owning project deliverables and leading diverse project teams to success.

    Why Setpoint? (The Growth Advantage)

+ High-Level Impact: Work on critical infrastructure projects that define safety and sustainability in the region.

+ Mentorship Culture: We don't just hire experts; we build them. Benefit from and contribute to our internal knowledge-sharing ecosystem.

+ Comprehensive Benefits: * Competitive salary with aggressive growth tiers.

    + 3 weeks PTO, 401(k) match, and full medical/dental/vision.

+ Employer-paid Life Insurance and FSA options.

The Rocky Mountain Region is growing, and Setpoint Systems is leading the charge. Are you ready to lead with us?
