    Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a **Lead Electronics Engineer** to design embedded electronics used residential, commercial and industrial products for electrical systems. You will work with a team of dedicated engineers and experience the excitement of bringing new products to life from design concept through to production launch. The primary function is to lead the effort in design and development of embedded electronics for power electronics based products. This includes creating functionality related to electronics, embedded firmware, protection, metering, communications, and supporting hardware. ​

     

    This is a hybrid role based at our Moon Township, PA facility. Relocation assistance will be offered to candidates currently residing in the USA who are outside of a 50-mile radius of the facility.

     

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $94000 - $143000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

    What you’ll do:

    + Perform complex electronics and embedded design and testing tasks relating to both HW and FW.

    + Plan work in detail at individual level, creating a robust and trackable plan, coordinated with the larger development team, including requirement definition and issue tracking.

    + Review own work as well as others work in formal design and quality reviews.

    + Test own work or work of others, meeting quality and reliability goals.

    + Develop a high level of technical expertise in embedded electronics design and over time becomes a SME.

    + Provide domain expertise to product support personnel to solve field issues.

    + Perform and contribute to technical research and investigations.

    + Collaborate with teams from Corporate Research & Technology, Electrical Sector Center of Excellence,external technology and product innovation.

    + Generate value added intellectual property.

    Qualifications:

    Basic (required) Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering from an accredited institution.

    + Five years of relevant experience developing power electronics and analog and digital circuits.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Proficient with circuit design and schematic capture tools, specifically Altium.

    + Experience with bus communications: USB, Modbus, CAN, Ethernet.

    + Experience with AC and DC power systems.

    + Experience with embedded firmware in 8 bit through 32 bit microcontrollers (e.g. ARM Cortex, PIC).

    + Experience with supporting the transition of designs into a production environment including writing and performing detailed test plans.

    + Experience with C and C++ Experience with electrical and electronics design and simulation tools such as (MATLAB or similar).

    + Experience in using Digital Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other metrology equipment.
