Speech Pathologist - Inpatient Therapy Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303 $39.16 - $58.74 an hour - Half-Time Days, 20 hours per week +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts. Boulder Community Health is seeking a Speech Pathologist who assumes responsibility and accountability for providing quality care to patients with disorders affecting language, speech, cognition and/or swallowing functions. Speech/language therapy services include the following: assessment of patient level of function/needs assessment, development of treatment programs, provision of treatment and education of the patient, family and caregivers as related to language, speech, cognition and/or swallowing functions. Benefits: •Health insurance, including a FREE employee only option •Dental and Vision insurance •BCH paid Life Insurance; Spouse and Dependent Life Insurance plans •Short-term and Long-term disability coverage •Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts •Retirement plan with BCH matching contributions, and discretionary lump sum contribution •Paid Time Off •Education assistance program •Voluntary Wellness programs, to include biometrics, wellness team challenges, and much more •Staff Support Initiatives such as Sound Baths, Meditation, Massages, and Reiki •Free one-on-one retirement planning sessions •Employee Assistance Program offering 8 free, confidential counseling sessions for you and your family Qualifications •Masters Degree in Speech/Language Pathology from a training program or Certificate of Clinical Competency as required and verified by state SLP registration. •Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology is required, CCC-eligible, or able to meet the requirements for Clinical fellowship year with appropriate supervision by a qualified clinical fellowship supervisor by date of hire. •Current Colorado state license for SLP is required. •Current ASHA Certified member preferred. •BLS certification required by the end of conditional period. •Acute Care experience required •Cannot be a recent graduate Responsibilities •Selects appropriate tests and measures to determine goals and problems, course of treatment and appropriate therapeutic interventions. •Establishes speech/language therapy diagnosis. •Formulates and maintains an individualized treatment plan based on functional long and short-term goals. •Provides treatment using appropriate techniques and tools. •Evaluates patient response to treatment and revises plan of care as indicated. •Promotes effective communication and teamwork. •Reports and documents evaluations, plans, treatment techniques, assessment and patient progress. •Initiates and is responsible for problem solving and decision-making regarding patient care. •Functions as an advocate for the patient within the rehabilitation system. Identifies patient/family goals and incorporates this feedback into the overall plan of care. •Participates in achievement of department and hospital goals. •Evaluates own performance with established criteria and sets goals for improvement.
