Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our urgent care facility. The role involves a blend of clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring the seamless operation of patient care and facility management.

Responsibilities

+ Check in and check out patients efficiently.

+ Record and monitor patients' vital signs.

+ Accurately log information into the EMR/EHR system (NexGen).

+ Verify patient insurance details.

+ Cover the front desk duties when the receptionist is on lunch break.

+ Perform general medical assistant tasks as required.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in appointment scheduling.

+ Experience with electronic health record systems, particularly NexGen.

+ Strong patient care abilities.

+ BLS Certification (AHA).

+ 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in back office medical assistant tasks with some front office responsibilities.

+ Bilingual capabilities are advantageous.

+ Familiarity with imaging and radiology.

+ Must pass an integrity test.

+ Willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Work Environment

This is a full-time float position, rotating between the West Covina and Burbank sites. Our urgent care is open 7 days a week and sees 40-45 patients per day. The position involves working three 12-hour shifts per week, from 10 AM to 10:30 PM. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring adaptability and strong teamwork skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Covina, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.50/hr.
