Environmental Project Manager
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to lead and support remediation projects within the NYC Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) and the New York State Clean Up Act. This role involves managing environmental assessments, preparing technical documentation, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and ensuring projects meet safety, environmental, and quality standards. You’ll serve as a trusted client partner while overseeing field activities, subcontractors, and project financials.
Key Responsibilities
+ Manage and support environmental remediation projects under the NYC BCP and New York State Clean Up Act.
+ Conduct and oversee Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
+ Prepare and review technical reports, including Remedial Action Work Plans (RAWP), Site Management Plans (SMP), Investigation Work Plans, and regulatory submittals.
+ Coordinate with regulatory agencies such as NYSDEC and NYC OER.
+ Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and cost tracking.
+ Serve as the primary client contact, providing updates, managing expectations, and maintaining strong relationships.
+ Supervise subcontractors, field staff, and sampling programs.
+ Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
+ Support proposal development, scope creation, and project planning efforts.
Essential Skills & Experience
+ 5+ years of experience supporting Brownfield Cleanup Program and New York State Clean Up Act projects.
+ Strong background conducting Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
+ Proven expertise in environmental compliance and remediation.
+ Excellent technical writing, budgeting, and client management abilities.
+ Experience with construction oversight and environmental monitoring.
Additional Qualifications
+ Experience coordinating with NYSDEC, NYC OER, or similar regulatory agencies.
Work Environment
This is an office‑based position with hybrid flexibility and approximately 10% travel to NYC project sites. The role is part of a dynamic, growth‑oriented environmental firm headquartered in Bohemia, with offices throughout the Northeast. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
