    Construction Estimator – Historic Restoration

     

    Worcester Eisenbrandt (WEI), a historic restoration construction company, is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. This position supports projects throughout the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) metropolitan area.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for historic restoration and commercial construction projects.

    + Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates by analyzing construction documents, specifications, and market conditions.

    + Perform quantity take-offs for selected trades and develop detailed, trade-specific scopes of work.

    + Create, manage, and evaluate bid packages while identifying cost-saving opportunities.

    + Collaborate with architects, engineers, owners, and other stakeholders to align project scope, schedule, permits, and costs with historic preservation standards.

    + Utilize estimating software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel to develop reliable and competitive estimates.

    + Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as required.

    Physical Requirements

    + Ability to perform work primarily in an office environment with occasional construction site visits.

    + Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods.

    + Ability to travel to job sites, attend meetings, and conduct field observations as needed.

    + Ability to communicate effectively with project team members and stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or 5–8 years of construction estimating experience in lieu of a degree.

    + Proven experience estimating commercial construction projects.

    + Proficiency with estimating software, including Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.

    + Experience with historic restoration projects is highly preferred.

    + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    + Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
