    Description

    A multi-site healthcare organization in Oceanside is seeking a detail-driven Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys structured processes, regulatory environments, and contributing to accurate financial reporting within a mission-driven organization.

    Position Overview

    The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries, and supporting financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and healthcare compliance standards. This position works closely with senior accounting leadership and operational teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and prepaids

    + Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, AR, AP, and fixed assets

    + Support month-end and year-end close processes

    + Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation

    + Review expense allocations and ensure proper coding

    + Analyze variances and assist with financial reporting

    + Maintain compliance with healthcare accounting regulations and internal controls

    + Collaborate with billing and finance teams to resolve discrepancies

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

    + 3+ years of staff or general ledger accounting experience

    + Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting

    + Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and reconciliations

    + Experience with healthcare accounting systems preferred

    + Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities

    + Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
