    Description

    A mission-driven nonprofit organization in Encinitas is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to manage full-cycle AP operations and support compliance with grant and donor-funded programs. The AP Specialist will oversee invoice processing, payment execution, and reconciliations while ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and funding requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice review and approval workflows

    + Ensure proper expense coding in compliance with grant and fund restrictions

    + Prepare and process check, ACH, and wire payments

    + Reconcile AP subledger to general ledger

    + Maintain vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies

    + Assist with audit preparation and documentation

    + Support month-end close and reporting

    + Maintain accurate and organized AP records

    Requirements

    + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

    + 2–3 years of AP experience, preferably in nonprofit organizations

    + Knowledge of nonprofit accounting and fund accounting principles

    + Strong Excel and accounting software proficiency

    + High level of accuracy and confidentiality

    + Strong communication and vendor management skills

    + Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
