Radiology Technician Assistant wanted at the Danbury Hospital - Mammography Center

Full Time Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Strong consideration for candidate with previous healthcare experience working with patients. This is a union role and pay based on full years of related experience. Starts at $17/hour plus shift differentials. Come talk to us about careers well cared for.

Summary:

Assist technologist, patient, and Radiologistduring patient arrival and duringexam in order to enhance throughput and expedite the best diagnosis to patient. Work with team to deliver quality care and be a contributing member of the team.

Responsibilities:

1. Greets patients, directs patient flow from waiting room to exam room. Has patient fill out proper formsrelating to exam.

2. Evaluates patient prescription to ensure proper exam is performed pertaining to individual ailment and correlates to the scheduled order. Assist in obtaining corrected order when needed.

3. Assist technologist in ordering, changing,and completing all cerner functions.

4. Changes patient and prepares patient for procedure.

5. Performs exam with technologist and offers assistance to patient, technologist, & radiologist throughout entire procedure as needed and escorts patient out of department.

6. Uploads outside imaging and reports.

7. Assists with patient lay letters as needed.

8. Cleans exam room and dressing roomfollowing procedures and restocks exam rooms at end of shift.

9. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Information:

Desired: Previous experience working hands-on with patients in a Radiology setting.

Working Conditions:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Little or no potential for occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
