As a Software Engineer II - Java & React Developer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

+ Develop micro-frontends using React, providing intuitive, responsive, and dynamic user interfaces

+ Develop microservices using Spring Boot, ensuring the application is secure, performant, and scalable

+ Work with AWS services such as ECS, Fargate, RDS Postgres, SQS, and SMS

+ Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance

+ Collaborate with product owners, designers, and other developers in an Agile scrum environment and implement features

+ Write clean, maintainable code that adheres to coding standards, with a focus on performance, security, and scalability

+ Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members

+ Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to meet performance and reliability requirements

+ Continuously learn and implement best practices for software engineering, micro-frontends, microservices, and cloud-native development

+ Add to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience

+ Strong experience in Java and Spring Boot for building microservices and RESTful APIs

+ Proficiency in React (JavaScript and/or TypeScript) to build responsive and dynamic user experiences

+ Hands-on experience with AWS services, like ECS, Fargate, SNS, SQS, RDS Postgres

+ Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment, specifically within an Agile/Scrum environment

+ Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools

+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and optimize both frontend and backend components

+ Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

+ Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and design patterns such as micro frontends

+ Exposure to cloud technologies

+ AWS Certification(s) (Associate or above)
